3D Stop Motion Animation Films
Stop motion is an animation technique where
one image gradually transforms into another,
filmed from only a single camera.
A shape and/or texture flows naturally
from itself into a different image.
I have created various films with different purposes, such as:
• art films
• animated backgrounds for concerts
• and films with an educational character

For the exhibition "De Animatie van Lisette" in Marie Tak van Poortvliet Museum in Domburg Lisette created a 3D animation movie in which
a figurative drawing by Piet Mondrian of the church of Domburg transformed into a more abstract work of the same church that he made a few years later.
And then the 2-dimensional artwork emerges into a 3-dimensional space representing the architecture of the museum.

3D Animated film created as part of my duo exhibition at the Marie Tak van Poortvliet Museum in Domburg in 2020.
Through cinematic imagery, Lisette brings to life a drawing made by Jan Toorop of the beach in Domburg by combining it with a photograph of the same beach from that era.

Fragment of experimental Art Film:
A painting becomes architecture and vice versa. This 3D
animation film suggests a cross-pollination between painting
and architecture from the early 20th century..
Based on two paintings by Mondrian: 'Composition in Red, Black,
Yellow and Grey', 1921 and 'Victory Boogie Woogie', 1944
and the first modern apartment building in the Netherlands
"Nirvana", designed by architects Duiker and Wibenga,
The Hague, 1930

Trailer (art-project)
An animated abstract form, which becomes an etheric world in which, slowly but incessantly, images and sounds flow into each other.
New images are born until, eventually, the shapes of the beginning seem to return but now coming from a different, unknown source.
Music composed by Kerry Woodward. Musicians: Marije Slot, Ilse Eijsink, Jaike Bakker. Sound engineer: Paul-Peter Polak.

First part of an experimental Art Film
A painting starts moving, Lisette feels a great affinity with Mondrian. In his time a completely new, abstract art, which he called ‘Neo-plasticism’, had to be realized in order to express
universal balance and beauty. She believes that, in our time, we need to explore and depict evolutionary processes, and this is what she is trying to do. With his abstract, universal imagery,
Mondrian aimed at pure balance and a ‘dynamic movement n equilibrium’. For Lisette, expressing an inner harmony through digital means and depicting ‘evolution’ have become principles of her practice.
Music composed by Kerry Woodward. Musicians: Shula Oliver, Simon Marlow and Anne Haenen. Sound engineer: Peter Holmes.

Fragment of an concert
- A stage in motion, an animated film which Lisette created for the performance, “A New view on the Hague”, by the music group the Vitobrothers. In this moving painting,
the audience is invited on an hour-long inner journey / meditation. It starts in simple, personal surroundings, but evolves, first imperceptible, but then gradually becoming faster
and faster into an experience of ‘all that is’. This is a very touching film, and its emotional effect on the audience represents a newer element in Lisette’s work.
Musicians: Michael Varekamp and Wiboudt Burkens.

It is a 3D dance performance set to the music of Friedrich Nietzsche, in which Lisette envisions a possible evolution
of dance where dancers are replaced and duplicated by avatars.
